Kim Montgomery comes to us from Green, Ohio, and is the Building and Operations Manager. When the weather is warm, she likes to go to fairs and festivals, and when it gets colder she prefers to keep indoors at craft shows. Her absolute favorite holiday is the Fourth of July, and you might catch her dining at Newdle Bar or Fresco downtown. She loves working at Hillel because she has learned so much professionally and personally that she can’t imagine never having it in her life. Rabbi Lee Moore

Campus Rabbi

Our Campus Rabbi hails from the far off land of Kent, OH. When she’s not at Hillel, she can be found dancing, doing yoga, traveling, studying theology, and exploring poetry. Her favorite Hillel event is the Tu B’Shvat seder hosted at her home, where students celebrate the Jewish new year for the trees! She loves Purim and Shavuot, and recently watched Marco Polo on Netflix. Hillel matters to her because everyone could use a little Jewish wisdom in their life, and her advice to students is to study what you love, not what you think you are supposed to. Rabbi Lee received her ordination in 2010 from Hebrew College Rabbinical School in Boston, and joined our staff that fall.

Alana Bandos

Student Life Coordinator

Alana joins the Hillel staff from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  She graduated in 2011 with a degree in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where she also learned to SCUBA dive.  After living in Florida, the Caribbean, and Tel Aviv to study marine biology, Alana moved to Jerusalem to study Judaism fulltime at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies.  While there, she developed a passion for Jewish engagement and perfected her Challah recipe.  She recently moved to Cleveland, where she hopes to continue taking Krav Maga classes and visit the Cleveland Aquarium.  She enjoys watching Game of Thrones and would love to discuss the show with you when she finally catches up on the current season.  Alana’s favorite holiday is Passover and she loves everything Pumpkin Spice in the fall.

Contact Alana for: Chai latte or coffee dates, if you are new to Kent State, or a prospective student!

Diane Stresing

Administrative Assistant

Diane joined the Hillel team in 2017 and enjoys the students' energy, inquisitive and open-minded natures. Over the years she's worn many hats, from copywriter to operations manager to soccer mom, and is always open to learning new things. Really, almost anything. If you've got 10 minutes, she can teach you how to juggle, or whistle and hum at the same time.

Lisa Rhodes

Kitchen Manager

Lisa joined the Hillel staff in October 2010, and has brought new excitement to our Kosher kitchen. In addition to Shabbat and holiday meals, Lisa prepares chicken soup for students when they are sick, as well as snacks and other food for Hillel events. Trained at the University of Akron in the Hospitality Management Program, she has spent more than 25 years in the food service industry and finds much pleasure in planning themed events, preparing the perfect food to accent the occasion – a great fit for our “themed” Shabbat dinners. Twice each year, Lisa donates meals for the families staying at the Akron Ronald McDonald House and supports the March of Dimes Save the Babies Campaign by donating needed food for various events. She was recently the featured chef in the annual Signature Chef’s Auction in Akron. She also enjoys listening to books on tape and interior decorating.
